Colts Neck Man Owed More than $78K in EZ Pass Payments, Port Authority Says

Colts Neck, NJ - A Colts Neck man was arrested Thursday morning after police said he owed more than $78,000 in past tolls and fines to EZ Pass.

Spidron Fragoulias, 45, of Magnolia Lane in Colts Neck, was stopped at 10 a.m. Thursday in Staten Island, just moments after he had driven his flatbed truck through the EZ Pass toll lane at the Goethals Bridge without paying, the Port Authority Police told Patch.

A search found he had more than 850 violations "on multiple accounts," totaling $42,350 in fees and $36,256 in toll payments, Port Authority police said, a total of $78,606 he owed to the state.

The Port Authority officer who stopped him, Officer Ed Benenati, was on patrol at the Goethals bridge, and had knowledge of Fagoulias' EZ pass account status.

He was arrested and his truck was impounded. A photo of Spidron Fragoulias has been provided by the Port Authority police.
