Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the prosecution of the killer of a Middletown man.

Monmouth County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the prosecution of the killer of a Middletown man.

On June 19, 2013, Anthony Capella, 30, was murdered in his home in the Leonardo section of town, according to a Crime Stoppers poster shared on social media Thursday.

Capella, played varsity soccer at his alma matter, Middletown High School North. He joined the Army, rose to the rank of sergeant, and fought in Iraq from December 2005 to November 2006.

He was fatally shot inside his Roop Avenue home in 2013.

The nonprofit organization will pay up to $5,000 for information leading to the identification, arrest and prosecution of any suspects.
