The delayed openings follow a winter storm that brought snow, ice, subzero wind chills and more to the Garden State over the weekend.

MARLBORO-COLTS NECK, NJ — Schools throughout Marlboro and Colts Neck will operate on delayed opening schedules on Tuesday due to inclement weather conditions.

The delayed openings will be as follows:

Marlboro PK-8 School District

  • 90-minute delayed opening

Freehold Regional High School District

  • All bus pickups will be delayed 90 minutes
  • Early schools (Freehold, Howell, Manalapan) will begin at 9 a.m.
  • Late schools (Colts Neck, Freehold Township, Marlboro) will begin at 9:45 a.m.
  • In the event of any further change in schedule, the district will use its website, social media accounts, mobile app, and automated phone system to alert the community.

Tuesday’s delayed opening follows snow days across the Garden State that came after a winter storm hit New Jersey with snow, ice, wintry mix, and subzero wind chills over the weekend.

Looking ahead, the National Weather Service is warning residents of dangerously cold temperatures arriving this week, with several nights featuring single-digit temperatures and wind chills below zero.

“Some record lows and record low highs may be in jeopardy later this week,” officials said on Monday. “The stretch begins tonight, with a Cold Weather Advisory in place for the entire area.”

Here’s a look at the National Weather Service’s upcoming forecast for the Marlboro and Colts Neck area:

  • Monday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 8. Wind chill values as low as -4. West wind 10-15 MPH, with gusts as high as 25 MPH.
  • Tuesday: Increasing clouds, with a high near 21. Wind chill values as low as -6. West wind 10-15 MPH.
  • Tuesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 8. Wind chill values as low as -4. West wind 5-10 MPH.
  • Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 21. West wind around 10 MPH.
  • Wednesday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 6.
  • Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 19.
  • Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 2.
