DWI Checkpoint In Place In Monmouth County This Weekend

The pre-Thanksgiving checkpoint comes just before the holidays, when DWIs tend to spike.

MARLBORO, NJ— Be prepared to pull over this weekend: the Monmouth County DWI Taskforce is holding a DWI checkpoint on Route 9.

Between 10:00 p.m. Friday and 2:00 a.m. Saturday, cars traveling on Route 9 North in Marlboro will be pulled over for a sobriety check.

Cars will be pulled from the northbound lanes into the New York Sports Club parking lot for the check.

DWIs and alcohol-related car accidents jump in the periods around the holidays, particularly the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Always make sure to designate a sober driver before drinking, or be prepared to call a car.
