Elderly Woman Killed by Hit and Run Driver near Marlboro

Manalapan, NJ - Here’s an update to the hit and run late Tuesday night just across Rt. 9 in Manalapan:

An 83-year-old woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. She was struck as she crossed Rt. 9 at Gordons Corner Road. There is a bus stop there.

The woman has been identified by police as Corrine Becker, according to the Asbury Park Press. She was a resident of Manalapan Township.

The driver was Dominick DiGiorgio, 42, of Jackson, police told the APP. He initially struck Becker and then continued to drive south on Rt. 9, according to reports. Manalapan police officers found him at home.

Rescue workers tried to perform CPR on Becker at the scene, but she was pronounced dead.
