Hillsdale Rd. Bridge In Colts Neck To Close Monday, Dec. 4

Hillsdale Rd. Bridge in Colts Neck, over Big Brook, will close to traffic on Monday, Dec. 4 and remain closed for the next seven months.

COLTS NECK, NJ – Hillsdale Road bridge in Colts Neck, over Big Brook, will close to traffic on or about Monday, Dec. 4 and remain closed for approximately seven months.

Weather permitting, the project is expected to be completed by the end of June.

“Due to the significant deterioration of the wooden substructure, the bridge needs to be replaced,” said Freeholder Thomas A. Arnone, liaison to the Department of Public Works and Engineering. “The goal is to improve the overall safety of the traveling public in the area.”

Hillsdale Road will be closed at the bridge to all traffic for the duration of the project. Attempts will be made to maintain access to the Big Brook Preserve throughout construction; however, please be aware that construction activities may restrict or relocate available parking and access to the trails of the Preserve. Signage will be posted advising of any impacts to parking or trail access.

Motorists are asked to follow posted detour routes which will direct traffic along Crine Road, Boundary Road and Clover Hill Road.

“Motorists should expect travel delays in the area throughout the bridge reconstruction project,” said Arnone. “We appreciate everyone’s patience during the duration of this necessary project.”

The works is being performed by Montana Construction of Lodi, NJ. The estimated cost of construction is $1,531,201.
