Man Charged With Carjacking At Colts Neck Dept. Of Public Works
An Ocean Twp. man assaulted a woman at the Colts Neck Department of Public Works garage Monday and drove off with her car, say police.
COLTS NECK, NJ — An Ocean Township man assaulted a woman and then drove off in her car on Monday at the Colts Neck Department of Public Works facility, said Colts Neck police.
The incident happened at about 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 21 at the public works building at 231 Rt. 34: The woman told police a strange man assaulted her and then stole her car, driving off with it.
He did not show a gun or other weapon, and the woman said she did not know the man. Colts Neck police did not say if the woman works for Colts Neck Township, or what kind of car was stolen.

Just two hours later, at 4:30 p.m. that same day, Colts Neck police said they apprehended Jake Slevin, 29, of Ocean Township and charged him with the crime. Slevin has been charged with carjacking and theft of property and is at the Monmouth County Correctional Center in Freehold.
He is wanted for other crimes in other towns, police said.
