Man Steals Baby Formula From Marlboro CVS on Rt. 79: Police

The man then led police on a chase down Rt. 79, Marlboro Township police said.

Marlboro Township, NJ - A Perth Amboy man stole several cans of baby formula from the Morganville CVS on July 5, police said, and then led police on a brief chase along Rt. 79 as he tried to flee from the store.

On Tuesday, July 5, Daniel Crandall, 29, put $291 worth of baby formula in a bag and walked out of the store without paying, police said. Multiple witnesses in the CVS at the time and a nearby police officer said they saw him take the formula, according to a criminal complaint released by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.

He was told by Marlboro Police Sgt. Michael Tischler to stop, but he instead drove out of the CVS parking lot and continued onto Rt. 79, police said. Patrolman Dennis Demiceli tried to stop him, as well, but Crandall continued to flee from the police, according to the criminal complaint.
