Marlboro to Dedicate Seven Streets to September 11 Victims

The Marlboro Sunshine Fund is honoring several Marlboro residents who were victims of the 2001 terrorist attacks.

Marlboro Township is scheduled to honor seven members of its communtiy who were lost in the terrorist attacks of 2001, with several street dedication ceremonies.

The Marlboro Sunshine Fund will honorarily re-name seven streets in Marlboro, streets which seven residents and their families lived on.

In September of last year, Bernie Sokal approached the Town Council, asking if it would be possible to dedicate streets to residents who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001.

Council President Lt. Col. Jeff Cantor offered the services of the Marlboro Sunshine Fund, who is paying for the new honorary street signs.

The following streets will be dedicated at the following times this weekend:

9/21 - Friday

  • 6:00 PM - Street Naming for Firefighter Alan Feinberg Way - Susan Drive & Evelyn Drive (2nd sign on Susan Drive & Jennifer) 

9/22 - Saturday

  • 4:00 PM - Street Naming for Steven H. Russin Way - Regina Road & Duncan Road (2nd sign on Regina Road & Winnipeg) 
  • 4:20 PM - Street Naming for Jason David Cayne - Ottowa Road South & Redwood Drive (2nd sign on Ottowa Road South & Robertsville Road) 
  • 4:40 PM - Street Naming for Robert J. Mayo Way - Harvey Road & Guest (2nd Sign on Harvey Road & Dickinson) 
  • 5:00 PM - Street Naming for Al Conde Way - Sami Court & Windham Way (2nd sign will be placed on a light pole closest to Diane Conde's house) 
  • 5:20 PM - Street Naming for Brian's Way - Franklin Place & Hampton Way (2nd Pole to be installed on Franklin Place) 
  • 5:40 PM - Street Naming for Michael J. D'Esposito Way - Petra Drive & Rachel (2nd right) (2nd sign will be placed at the 1st right of Rachel) 

 

Cantor and Mayor Jon Hornik along with several Marlboro Township officials will travel to each street for individual dedication ceremonies. The public is welcome to come pay respects and share words with friends and neighbors. Name unveilings will happen rain or shine.

Current street names will remain the same, the street dedications are honorary and no postal addresses will be impacted by the ceremonies.
