Monmouth County Police Blotter

Residents of Middletown, Aberdeen, Hazlet, Red Bank and Freehold were among those taken into custody on various charges.

According to news releases from police in Middletown, Manalapan, Aberdeen and Woodbridge:

Matthew Callori, 24, from Hilda Court in Red Bank was arrested on May 30 by Middletown Corporal Mark Ward on charges of simple assault, terroristic threats and criminal mischief. He was held on $8,000 bail.

Maximillian Paredes, 18, from Third Avenue in Atlantic Highlands was arrested on May 31 by Middletown Police Officer Stephanie Geisel on charges of possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released pending a court date.

Gary Spann, 52, from Linden Avenue in Red Bank was arrested on May 30 by Middletown Patrolman Brady Carr on charges of possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was released pending a court date.

Michael Hartigan, 24, from Oake Shades Avenue in Aberdeen was arrested on May 30 by Middletown Sgt. Donald Coates on a charge of driving while intoxicated. He was released pending a court date.

Rafaelle Buzzelli, 53, from Center Avenue in Middletown was arrested on June 2 by Middletown Detective Kelly Godley on charges of theft by deception, credit card theft, using a stolen credit card and improper signing of a credit card. He was held on $40,000.

Robert Lagville, 30, from Locust Grove in Hazlet was arrested on June 1 by Middletown Patrolman Nicholas Fenezia on a charge of theft and on contempt of court warrants issued by the Holmdel and Middletown municipal courts. He was released after posting $450 bail.

James Fleming, 22, from Harmony Road in Middletown was arrested on June 5 by Middletown Detective William Strohkirch on charges of burglary, theft and receiving stolen property. He was held on $15,000 bail.

John Muranelli, 45, from Mercury Circle in South Amboy was arrested on June 7 by Middletown Patrolman John Soltysik on a charge of driving while intoxicated. He was released pending a court date.

At 4:20 p.m. on June 6, Manalapan Officer Matthew Meyler responded to Marshall’s department store on Route 9, in reference to a theft. A 42-year-old Manalapan woman told police $600 in cash was removed from her wallet, which she had in her shopping cart while shopping. The victim alleged she left her cart unattended and when she returned the wallet was missing from the cart. The wallet was later located but with cash removed from it. Anyone who may have witnessed the theft is encouraged to contact the Manalapan Township Police Department.

At 12:40 a.m. June 6, Manalapan Officer Kyle Earley conducted a motor vehicle stop on a 1999 Nissan Maxima on Route 9 South after observing a moving violation. The driver, Imani Roberts, 19, of Freehold, was found to be in possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and paraphernalia. Ms. Roberts was arrested, processed and released on multiple summonses. She was given a court date in Manalapan. Officer Kyle Earley handled the arrest.

At 8:12 p.m., June 5, Manalapan police patrols responded to 95 Freehold Road, the Manalapan Recreation Center, for a stolen backpack. Someone removed a red Under Armor backpack containing an Apple iPhone 6 and other sports gear. The bag and items were valued at $729. It was taken from the area of the new basketball courts on the west side of the Recreation Center. The victim is a 19-year-old Freehold Township man. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the Manalapan Township Police Department. Officer Brian Schank handled this incident.

At 4:45p.m. on June 8, Manalapan Officer Anthony Cascella responded to the Pack And Ship store, 520 Route 9 for a report of a burglary that took place over the weekend. The 50-year-old Marlboro man, who owns the business, told police that someone gained access to the unlocked portion of the store and removed a 1963 Thunderbird Junior model car valued at $19,500. The store was left unlocked by an employee and the car was removed sometime between Saturday afternoon and Monday morning. The case is pending further investigation. Officer Anthony Cascella handled the report.

Keri M. Roberts, 30, of Van Dorn Street, Keyport, was charged with driving while intoxicated and reckless driving following a motor vehicle crash on West Prospect Avenue on June 16. Aberdeen Officer Roger Peter was the arresting officer.

Ernest LaPointe, 38, of Waterwitch Avenue, Highlands was arrested by Woodbridge police and charged with two counts of burglary and one count each of obstructing the administration of law, resisting arrest and possession of Oxycodone. Just after 10 p.m. June 14, Woodbridge police received a call about a burglary to a 2013 GMC pick-up truck on East Woodbridge Avenue. The caller said the truck owner chased LaPointe, but lost sight of him. An officer spotted him a few block away, chased him and caught him. After a brief struggle he was taken into custody. Police also determined LaPointe had entered the victim’s other vehicle - a 2011 Mitsubishi Wagon. He was sent to the Middlesex County Adult Correction Center, with bail set at $2,500.
