More than 5 Inches of Snow Fell Today In Parts of Monmouth County

Schools are closed in Marlboro and Colts Neck. Tonight's Marlboro Board of Education meeting is also canceled.

More than 5 inches of snow has fallen in Monmouth County today, including an estimated 4.8 inches in Manalapan and about 5 inches in the Navesink section of Middletown.

Marlboro and Colts Neck high schools, which are part of the Freehold Regional High School District, are closed today. All schools in the Marlboro and Colts Neck school districts are also closed today because of the weather. Tonight’s Marlboro Board of Education meeting is also canceled.

  • Wall, 5.5 inches as of 7:40 a.m.
  • Neptune, 5.5 inches as of 5:40 a.m.
  • Hazlet, 5.3 inches as of 8 a.m.
  • Long Branch, 5.2 inches as of 8:15 a.m.
  • Navesink section of Middletown, 5.0 inches as of 7:30 a.m.
  • Howell, 5.0 inches as of 5:55 a.m.
  • Manalapan, 4.8 inches as of 8:30 a.m.
  • Middletown, 4.5 inches as of 6 a.m.

In South Brunswick this morning, police said state highways were passable at reduced speeds, and road conditions were expected to improve by mid-day.

But the cold temperatures will remain throughout the day.

In Monmouth County today, high temperatures are expected to reach about 25 degrees, while tonight’s low will be around 14, according to the National Weather Service. There’s a chance of snow again tomorrow, when high temperatures will reach about 29 degrees and the low will be about 6 degrees.
