Colts Neck residents may notice a large presence of emergency vehicles entering the Rt. 34 gate, as well as simulated gunfire Thursday a.m.

COLTS NECK, NJ — Naval Weapons Station (NWS) Earle will conduct a base-wide training exercise at their Colts Neck facility Thursday, Oct. 17 between the hours of 7 a.m. and noon.
The exercise is designed to train installation security and emergency management personnel and is not in response to any specific threat. Measures have been taken to minimize disruptions to normal base operations.
However, there may be times when the exercise causes increased traffic or delays in base access in the vicinity of the Naval Weapons Station (NWS) Earle Mainside (Route 34, Colts Neck) gates.
