Retiring Monmouth County Detective Donates Unused Sick Days To Employees In Need
After 31 years Detective Sergeant Barry Graves gave his department quite the parting gift.

MONMOUTH COUNTY, NJ-- Detective Sergeant Barry Graves gave his coworkers one heck of a parting gift: all of his unused sick days.
After 31 years in law enforcement, Graves was left with hundreds of hours of sick time he never used, so he gave it back to the county. The time will be available to any Monmouth County employee who have serious medical ailments and have exhausted their own sick leave time.
During his time as an undercover officer with Monmouth County, Graves made over 1,000 narcotics purchases, and other illegal purchases, inducing firearms and fradulent identification documents. At one point, Graves was even solicited to be a hitman against a Lakewood police officer.

Graves worked for over 20 years as part of the Narcotics Strike Force. He served in the Marines,and was a Tinton Falls Police Officer before being hired by the Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office.
