Road Remains Closed, Power Outages Linger After Marlboro Crash
The accident was a single-vehicle crash and occurred on Monday evening, according to Marlboro Police.

MARLBORO, NJ — Lloyd Road remains closed following a motor vehicle accident that occurred Monday evening, Marlboro Police Captain Stephen Levy told Patch on Tuesday.
According to Marlboro Police, the accident was a motor vehicle crash involving a utility pole. The crash occurred Monday evening and closed Lloyd Road between Route 79 and Baldwin Avenue.
According to Levy, the accident was a single-vehicle crash and the driver involved was a 69-year-old female from Matawan. She was driving a Cadillac SUV and suffered moderate injuries.

Though Lloyd Road remains closed as JCP&L continue repairs, Levy said both traffic lights in the area (one on Route 79/Tennent Road and one on Route 79/Lloyd Road) are operational at this time.
The crash on Lloyd Road was first reported by Marlboro Township on Monday at 5:37 p.m.

Following the accident, Marlboro Township said JCP&L was reporting 1,700 without power. By 8:50 p.m., the Township said JCP&L had restored power to all but 220 homes.
There are still reported power outages in the area, according to Levy, but the Marlboro Police Department does not know to what extent at this time.
