Colts Neck Burglaries Target Second-Floor Windows, Police Say

Police are investigating a rash of burglaries in the area, where the suspect breaks in via a second-floor window.

Colts Neck, NJ - Colts Neck police are investigating a rash of burglaries in the area this May, where the suspect breaks in via a second-floor window, steals items and then leaves through the same window.

The most recent break-in occurred sometime between May 12 and May 16 on Michaels Way. While the home was unoccupied and the owner was away, the actors forced entry through a 2nd floor window, removed unknown property and then exited through the same 2nd floor window.

On May 14 at approximately 11:30 p.m., a Secretariat Drive resident reported hearing a loud noise on the second floor of his home. He went to see where the noise came from, only to find the window of a balcony door had been shattered by a rock.

The homeowner was not confronted by anyone in the house, police said, and they think the suspect tried to break in, unaware that the house was occupied, and fled the scene once the owner appeared.

On May 5, a Rancho Polo home was broken into between 8:00 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., while the owner was out. Similarly to the other two incidents, the suspects gained entry through a 2nd floor window, removed property and exited through the same 2nd floor window.
