2nd DUI Crash in Aberdeen in One Week
Both DUI accidents occurred on Rt. 35, and one involved an Aberdeen school van.

Aberdeen, NJ - Aberdeen saw its second drunk driving car accident in just one week, police report, as a Manalapan man was charged with driving while intoxicated after crashing his car on Rt. 35 on Dec. 2. The news comes as Middletown announced 25 additional DUI patrols on the roads starting this weekend.
Daniel Traegler, 28, Manalapan, was pulled over by police after he hit a mile marker on Highway 35 on Dec. 2. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, refusal to submit to a breath test, leaving the scene of a crash and several other motor vehicle offenses, Aberdeen Chief of Police John Powers said.
The Wednesday prior to that, Nov. 25, an intoxicated Holmdel man hit an Aberdeen school van also on Rt. 35, police said. The school van was carrying one child, and both the child and van driver were minorly injured in the crash. The Holmdel man fled the scene, but was caught a short while later and charged with DWI, as well as heroin possession.
