Arrest Made In Rt. 9 Fatal Hit And Run In Old Bridge
A 21-year-old Manalapan man was arrested Thursday after police say he hit a man on Rt. 9 on Feb. 15 and left the scene.
OLD BRIDGE, NJ — Many people in Old Bridge were angry and saddened this week to learn of yet another person hit and killed on Rt. 9, most recently this past Tuesday morning, Feb. 15.
This is the second time in less than a month that someone was killed on Rt. 9 and in both times, the fatal accidents happened on the exact same stretch of Rt. 9, near Ferry Road.
Now on Friday, the Middlesex County Prosecutor's office has identified the person who was killed, and made an arrest in the incident, which police say was a hit and run:

At 6:45 a.m. Feb. 15, police responded to the area of Rt. 9 and Ferry Road after getting a 911 call from drivers who said they saw the body of a man lying on the center median of Rt. 9. Upon arrival, police located Anthony Allen, 64, of Asbury Park, who had been struck by a car and was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Police investigated and determined Prince Fitzpatrick, 21, of Manalapan, was the driver of the vehicle that hit Allen. Police say he fled the scene.

On Thursday, Fitzpatrick was arrested and charged with second-degree leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and third-degree endangering an injured victim. He was taken to the Middlesex County Jail.
