August Aberdeen Police Blotter Released
There were multiple shoplifting incidents at Aberdeen's two supermarkets, ShopRite and Stop & Shop:
ABERDEEN, NJ — Aberdeen Township Police made the following arrests Aug. 1 - Aug. 31, 2022:
On August 1, a 15-year-old male juvenile resident of Newark, NJ was charged with motor vehicle theft following an incident on State Highway 34. Detective Heather Dillon was the arresting officer. The juvenile entered into a vehicle in which was unlocked in the parking lot of Round Pizza. The owner scared him away and he fled in a vehicle. Juvenile was identified and was found to be involved in motor vehicle thefts from around the area and charged after he was arrested in Newark, NJ.
On Aug. 1, a 22-year-old male resident of Aberdeen, NJ was charged with burglary and simple assault following an incident at Shoprite. Ptl. Michael Monteiro was the arresting officer.

On Aug. 4, a 45-year-old male resident of Aberdeen, NJ was possession of a weapon and driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle crash on Cross Road. Ptl. Ronald Osadacz Jr was the arresting officer.
On Aug. 5, a 36-year-old male resident of Aberdeen, NJ was charged with criminal mischief following an incident on County Road. Ptl. Marcus Neal was the arresting officer.

On Aug. 6, a 45-year-old male resident of Barnegat, NJ was charged with shoplifting following an incident at Shoprite. Ptl. Thomas Wagner was the arresting officer.
On Aug. 7, a 56-year-old female resident of Keyport, NJ was charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on Lower Main Street. Ptl. Hakim Bryant was the arresting officer.
On Aug. 7, a 58-year-old female resident of Matawan, NJ was charged with theft of property lost following an incident at Deninos Pizza. Ptl Christopher Shaw was the arresting officer.
On Aug. 8, a 19-year-old male resident of Aberdeen, NJ was charged with criminal mischief following an incident on Lloyd Road. Ptl. Evan Tyler was the arresting officer.
On Aug. 8, a 35-year-old male resident of Bloomfield, NJ was charged with burglary and harassment following an incident on Beacon Lane. Det. Mohamed Mahmoud was the arresting officer.
On Aug. 9, a 35-year-old female resident of Hackensack, NJ was charged with simple assault following an incident on Central Avenue. Ptl’s Frank Maisano and Anthony Marone were the arresting officers.
On Aug. 10, a 22-year-old male resident of Aberdeen, NJ was charged with aggravated assault, possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of a weapon following an incident at Shoprite. Det. Mohamed Mahmoud was the arresting officer. He assaulted an acquaintance who happened to be an employee at the Shoprite, say Aberdeen Police. The weapon was a small knife. This was not a stabbing.
On Aug. 10, a 28-year-old female resident of Keansburg, NJ was charged with criminal trespassing, obstruction and possession of CDS following an incident at Wawa. Ptl. Nicholas Perrone was the arresting officer.
On Aug. 11, a 41-year-old male resident of Aberdeen was charged with simple assault, possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon, criminal mischief and terroristic threats following an incident on Glassworks Blvd. Ptl. Benjamin Cleaves was the arresting officer.
On Aug. 12, a 39-year-old male resident of Englewood, NJ was charged with theft by deception following an incident on Edgeview Drive. Det. Mohamed Mahmoud was the arresting officer. The theft by deception was for being paid for work not performed on an agreement.
On Aug. 13, a 27-year-old female of Old Bridge, NJ was charged with contempt of court on a warrant issued by Lakewood Township Municipal Court. Ptl. Christopher Shaw was the arresting officer.
On Aug. 13, a 39-year-old male resident of Aberdeen, NJ was charged with possession of CDS and driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on State Highway 35. Ptl. Thomas Wagner was the arresting officer.
On Aug. 14, a 62-year-old male resident of Marlboro, NJ was charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle crash on State Highway 34. Ptlw. Jessica McDougall was the arresting officer.
On Aug. 16, a 33-year-old female resident of Aberdeen, NJ was charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on State Highway 34. Ptl. Nicholas Perrone was the arresting officer.
On Aug. 17, a 33-year-old male resident of Brooklyn, NJ was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and harassment following an incident on Bailey Road. Det. Heather Dillon was the arresting officer.
On Aug. 18, a 51-year-old male resident of Aberdeen, NJ was charged with failure to register as a sex offender on Cross Road. Det. Heather Dillon was the arresting officer. Say Aberdeen Police: "Our agency received information that the accused was a sex offender who did not register as per his agreement under Megans Law. A convicted sex offender has to register in a certain time frame, which he did not."
On Aug. 18, a 39-year-old male resident of Aberdeen, NJ was charged with simple assault following an incident on Atlantic Avenue. Ptl. Nicholas Perrone was the arresting officer.
On Aug. 19, a 47-year-old male resident of Hazlet, NJ was charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on State highway 35. Ptl. Hakim Bryant was the arresting officer.
On Aug. 20, a 24-year-old male resident of Middletown, NJ was charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop on Lower Main Street. Ptl. Hakim Bryant was the arresting officer.
On Aug. 21, a 58-year-old male resident of Hazlet, NJ was charged with contempt of court on a warrant issued by Carteret Municipal Court. Ptl. Christopher Vetter was the arresting officer.
On Aug. 22, a 22-year-old female resident of Queens, NY was charged with shoplifting and hindering following an incident at the Stop & Shop. Ptl. Liam Gallagher was the arresting officer.
On Aug. 29, a 43-year-old female resident of Matawan, NJ was charged with shoplifting following an incident at the Stop & Shop. Ptl. Marcus Neal was the arresting officer.
It should be noted that all arrestees are presumed innocent until found guilty in a court of law.
Officers responded to or initiated calls for service between August 1 st , 2022 and August 31st, 2022, including 51 motor vehicle accidents; 77 alarms (house/fire); 3 assaults; 4 burglary reports; 8 criminal mischief; 9 crisis interventions; 17 disorderly persons; 16 domestic disputes; 18 fire calls, 99 first aid calls; 21 frauds; 21 harassments; 0 M.V thefts; 0 narcotics; 15 thefts; 0 trespassing; 33 suspicious person/vehicle and 29 welfare checks.
Officers issued 217 summonses and conducted 338 motor vehicle stops.
