BOE Discusses New Roof for Cambridge Park Elementary at Workshop Meeting

The board will take action on the topic at the next regular action meeting Nov. 1

The Board of Education discussed replacing part of the roof on the Cambridge Park Elementary building at their Committee of the Whole workshop meeting Oct. 10.

According to the resolution, the board wants to install a new roof and do related work at the center section of the Cambridge Park Elementary School.

The Matawan Aberdeen Regional School District Administration is housed in the same building, but in a different area.

In order to install a new roof, the project must be approved by the New Jersey Department of Education (NJ DOE). This resolution, if passed, authorizes USA Architects, Planners + Interior Designers and James Strimple, the business administrator for the board, to prepare the proper documents in connection with the project and send them to the NJ DOE.

"It is our intention to go out for bid in Feb. or Mar. of this year and line up a contractor early so we can begin working as soon as school is out," Strimple said.
