The Board of Education appointed a new student representative at their regular action meeting Sept. 26.
Matthew Tomasello, a senior at Matawan Regional High School, was officially sworn in and delivered his first report at Monday's meeting. He was praised by the board for his many academic achievements and extra-curricular activities.
As the student representative, it is Tomasello's responsibility to deliver a report on each school in the district at the Board of Education meetings. He can also add insight to the board, as he sees first hand the implementation of new policies and initiatives.
