Fireworks, Samples, Pie-Eating Contest, And More July 3 In Matawan
Matawan's Fireworks Extravaganza also includes music from Stretch & the Armstrongs, a bounce house, a balloon artist, and a caricaturist.
MATAWAN, NJ — Matawan's Fireworks Extravaganza is July 3 at Lake Lefferts, with a number of activities lined up for all ages.
The celebration begins at 5:30 near the lake house at Lake Lefferts on Ravine Drive. The road will be closed at 5 p.m., the borough said.
"Get your portrait done, listen to some great music by Stretch and the Armstrongs, and enjoy menu samples courtesy of ShopRite," the announcement says. "Kids activities include a balloon artist, bounce house and interactive game inflatable."

The annual pie-eating contest is at 7 p.m. at the lake house. Bibs will be available for contestants. The top three finishers will get $50, $75, or $100 Visa gift cards.
Fireworks are at dusk, or about 9:15 p.m., over Lake Lefferts. The rain date is July 8 at the same time and place.
