Update: Flash Flood Watch Extended In Monmouth County
A flash flood watch is in effect for Monmouth County until 6 a.m. Tuesday.

A flash flood watch is in effect for Monmouth County until 6 a.m. Tuesday.
The National Weather Service has issued the flash flood watch for parts of the state, including Camden, Gloucester, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Somerset, Ocean and Monmouth counties.
Showers and thunderstorms are expected to throughout Monday night, and some of those storms may include torrential rainfall, the weather service said.

On average, an inch of rainfall is expected, but localized amounts of more than three inches are possible in areas with heavy thunderstorms.
In some cases, rain may fall at a rate of two inches an hour.

If that amount of rain falls, storm drains may clog and streets and highways may flood to dangerous levels.
