Former Verizon Employee Breaks into Yard 6 Times, Police Say
A Brick man broke into the Verizon yard in Aberdeen six times this winter to steal copper wire and metal pipes, police say.

Aberdeen, NJ - A former Verizon employee has been charged with breaking into the Verizon yard in Aberdeen six different times and stealing from it this winter, Aberdeen police said today. The Verizon yard is located at 1196 Highway 34 in Aberdeen.
Richard Kijak, 39, of Avis Drive in Brick, broke into the yard several times between Jan. 28 and March 18, police say. Kijak, a former employee at Verizon, was able to get onto the property using a combination of security codes and forced entry.
He removed various metal pipes and copper wires valued at $10,000 and then exchanged them for cash at a facility in Neptune City, police say. Patch reported on some of his alleged earlier robberies when they first happened, in January of this year.

Kijak was charged with six counts of burglary and theft and two counts of criminal mischief. He was released after posting $32,500 with a 10% option. The investigation is ongoing, police say.
