Thursday, March 1 @ 10 am – Fund Raising 101 (The Basics)
Competition for funding will increase as cuts on the Federal level trickle down to all of us. The objective of this program is to outline a plan for small to medium size groups, as well as individuals, that they can implement in their quest to secure needed support.
The session will presented by Charles Burke, who has conducted workshops on grant writing and alternate sources of funding for over four decades at major conventions. Even if you already have a well-established fund raising program in place, this session may help you to discover additional ways to enhance your efforts.

Saturday, March 3 @ 1 pm – Top 10 Landscaping Mistakes and How to Avoid Them
“Top 10 Landscape Design Mistakes and How to Avoid Them” highlights the most commonly seen landscape design mistakes made in home landscapes. Many of these mistakes can be corrected; others you can avoid by knowing what you need to do before purchasing and planting shrubs and trees. This program will be presented by Master Gardener Debbie LaGattuta.

Thursday, March 8 @ 1:30 pm – Chair Yoga
Interested in learning yoga, but have difficulty getting down on the floor? Now you too can enjoy all the benefits of yoga without having to get on a mat. You will learn many yoga postures, breathing techniques, meditation and relaxation while seated in a chair. The class will be taught by Danielle Meany, RYT. All levels welcome. No experience or equipment is necessary.
Must be at least 18 years-old and a MAPL cardholder to participate.
Thursday, March 8 @ 7 pm – Spanish Conversation for Adults (8 weeks, no April 5)
Being able to speak Spanish is a better way to communicate when you travel and being bilingual can make you more competitive in the workplace. In this eight week program for native English speakers, you will have the opportunity to practice listening and speaking with a native Spanish speaker in a small group setting.
Participants must be able to commit to attending all classes.
Classes will meet on 3/8, 3/15, 3/22, 3/29, 4/12, 4/19, 4/26, and 5/1 (no class on 4/5).
Sunday, March 11 @ 1 pm – Irish Music with Daoine
Daoine (pronounced “DEE-nee”) is the Irish word for “people.” The band, Daoine, is a group of musicians who love to get together to play great Irish music and share it with listeners. From dance music like jigs, reels and hornpipes, to hauntingly beautiful airs and songs, traditional Irish music continues to inspire and find a new voice with each generation. Their music has a fire and energy to it, while striving to stay true to its roots.
Thursday, March 15 @ 4:30 pm – Online Business and New Jersey Sales Tax
In this two hour course you will learn about:
- Taxable products and services
- Sales inside and outside of New Jersey
- Shipping products
- Collecting New Jersey Sales Tax
- Filing Sales and Use Tax returns
This course will be presented by Solange Pimentel and Gail Taliafierro from the New Jersey Division of Taxation.
Monday, March 19 @ 7 pm – Virtual Concert: Bon Jovi Radio BBC 2012Congratulations to all the 2018 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees! Join us to watch this Qello Concert featuring one of the inductees, Bon Jovi. In this 2012 concert at the famous BBC Radio Theatre in London, Bon Jovi perform songs from Because We Can as well as classic hits from throughout their career including It’s My Life, Wanted Dead Or Alive and Livin’ On A Prayer.
Thursday, March 22 @ 11 am – Yoga Basics
This class is great for the beginner or experienced student as we give variations for all levels. Focusing on movement integrating breath, awareness, and alignment you will build strength, focus, flexibility, and balance for both mind and body. The class will be taught by Tula Yoga instructor, Jennifer Cavalieri. Please bring your own yoga mat or large towel.
Must be at least 18 years-old and a MAPL cardholder to participate.
Monday, March 26 @ 7 pm – Matawan Aberdeen Critique Group
Improve your writing with the Matawan Aberdeen Critique Group.
This group is for people who are serious about trying to get published. It’s a safe place where participants are able to give and receive constructive criticism on their writing. Participants should be prepared to read 3-5 pages of their own writing aloud to the group. No need to bring copies for the group.
Must be at least 18 years-old to participate.
Thursday, March 29 @ 7 pm – Dotted Paint Tote Bags
Learn how to design your own spring-themed tote bag using a dotted paint technique. A fun craft for anyone, whether you're a beginner or a seasoned crafter. All materials will be provided.
