Gas Leak Shuts Down Atlantic Avenue In Aberdeen Tuesday Morning
There are 11,000 JCP&L customers without power Tuesday morning, with the bulk of the outages in Lincroft and Howell.
ABERDEEN, NJ — Monday night's high winds caused some damage throughout Monmouth County:
First, Atlantic Avenue in Aberdeen is down to one lane of traffic due to a gas leak as of 6:15 a.m., according to Aberdeen Police. There will be delays Tuesday morning traveling to and from Matawan-Aberdeen Regional High School and the train station. If you can avoid the area please do so.
Aberdeen Police are on the scene. There are also 20-minute delays on the North Jersey Coast Line due to a track condition near Middletown.

Secondly, there was a transformer fire in Lincroft Monday night.
There are also currently 11,000 JCP&L customers without power as of Tuesday morning, according to parent company FirstEnergy's outage map. The bulk of the outages are in Howell right now, with up to 500 Howell residents without power. Another pocket of an estimated 500 homes are without power in Lincroft. About 1,000 homes lost power in Old Bridge just past 10 p.m. Monday, but power appears to be now restored for those homes.
