Person Died In Keyport House Fire, Prosecutor Confirms
Someone died, and a dog was pulled from the burning home Tuesday morning in Keyport:
KEYPORT, NJ — A resident died in a Keyport house fire Tuesday morning, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutor.
The fire broke out at approximately 6:30 a.m. at a home on the 50 block of Green Grove Avenue, at the corner of Maple Place, and it rose to a second alarm. Smoke from the burning home could be seen throughout the area.
The county prosecutor has not released any additional details about the person who died, such as their name, gender or age.

A dog was also rescued from the burning home.
The dog was taken to a local veterinarian for treatment, and the dog's medical status is unknown at this time.

Emergency personnel are currently at the scene of the fire, and you can see photos of the home here.
Keyport Police and firefighters, members of the prosecutor's Major Crimes Bureau and the Monmouth County Fire Marshal's Office are currently on the scene, and all the agencies are jointly investigating this fatal fire.
