Keyport Man, Girlfriend Tried To Bribe Sex Assault Victim: Prosecutor
The sex assault took place last July at a Tinton Falls motel on Rt. 33; police say the two tried to bribe the victim from talking to police:
KEYPORT, NJ — A Keyport couple has been indicted on allegations that they tried to bribe a woman who was violently sexually assaulted to prevent her from cooperating with law enforcement.
The man is Kareem Lee, 32, and the woman is his girlfriend, Erin Logan, 31, both of Keyport. They offered a woman Lee is accused of raping $1,000 if she refused to cooperate with police.
Lee is accused of sexually assaulting a woman at gunpoint in a Tinton Falls motel last July.

Then, on various dates in October and November, Lee, Logan and an unnamed third person offered the woman cash in exchange for a signed and notarized document in which she would state that she did not wish to pursue the case against Lee, alleged Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago.
The sex assault occurred last summer: Shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2022, Tinton Falls Police were called to an unnamed motel on Rt. 33.

Upon arrival, the victim told officers she had been sexually assaulted at gunpoint by a man who had entered her room.
Lee was identified as the prime suspect, and he was located and arrested by Red Bank Police in Count Basie Park the next day, July 22.
His girlfriend, Logan, was arrested in December 2022, presumably after one of the times she allegedly tried to give the victim cash.
Lee and Logan are each charged with second-degree conspiracy and second-degree bribery of a witness.
Lee remains additionally charged with first-degree armed robbery, first-degree aggravated sexual assault and weapons offenses for the 2022 motel sex attack.
Lee and Logan both remain detained at the Monmouth County Jail in Freehold. However, detectives are still trying to build a case against them and are seeking any tips.
