A Letter of Thanks From The Community YMCA
Rhonda Anderson, President & Ceo of The Community YMCA thanks the community for its generosity during their holiday gift drive.
To Our Community:
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the many companies, individuals and families that helped make the Christmas season bright for nearly 450 children served by The Community YMCA’s Counseling and Social Services division.

Many people are not aware that the Y provides outpatient and outreach counseling programs, including mental health services, mentoring, parent coaching and foster care support. Overall the Y serves approximately 20,000 families throughout Monmouth and parts of Ocean County, about 3,000 of whom receive financial assistance for Y programs and services.
Each year our Counseling and Social Services team reaches out to the community for donations of gifts to help their clients have a happy holiday by “adopting” a family or child and providing gifts from their “wish” lists. Donations included toys, books, clothes and other gifts.

Approximately 20 local businesses supported the Y’s program and encouraged their employees to participate. Many of these businesses have been participating for years.
Our outreach office in Eatontown delivered gifts to 403 children from 174 families, while the outpatient office in Matawan worked solely with one local business to bring clothes and toys to 45 children from 30 families.
The Y is truly grateful to have received approximately $55,000 in donated gifts. It is our community’s generosity that brought joy to so many children and families.
Thank you again to all who helped make this holiday season special.
Blessings to all for a happy and healthy New Year!
