Arrest In Perth Amboy Conrail Railroad Track Murder, Prosecutor Says
A man from El Salvador is in custody for the grisly murder of a man who was stabbed to death and left by the Conrail tracks in Perth Amboy.

PERTH AMBOY, NJ — A man from El Salvador is now in custody for the grisly murder of a Perth Amboy man in late August, who was stabbed to death and then left near the Conrail railroad tracks in Perth Amboy.
Francisco Carlos Ramires a.k.a. Carlos Campos, 20, of El Salvador, who is currently living in East Boston, Massachusetts, has been charged with the crime. He was arrested last Friday, Sept. 1 by Boston police for an unrelated crime. Boston police notified the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office, which was looking for him. He was subsequently arrested and charged with the Perth Amboy murder.
The body of the 18-year-old victim, Jose David Guardado, was found on the morning of August 25 just before 8 a.m. near the Conrail railroad tracks. The Conrail property is near William Street in Perth Amboy. The person who found his body called 911 at 7:41 a.m. that day. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Medical Examiner determined he died from sharp injuries of the head, neck and torso.

Ramires is now charged with one count of murder in the first degree and one count of possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose in the third degree. He is currently being held in Massachusetts awaiting extradition to New Jersey.
