Man Charged With Theft From Sayreville Rt. 9 Enterprise Rent-A-Car

A Sayreville Police patrolman was on routine patrol when he encountered a theft in progress at Enterprise on Rt. 9 on January 9.

SAYREVILLE, NJ — A Sayreville Police patrolman was on routine patrol when he encountered a theft in progress at Enterprise Rent-A-Car on Rt. 9 on January 9.

The suspect was in the process of stealing rims and tires from a vehicle in the parking lot.

During the incident, the suspect collided with Patrolman Dufrat's patrol car and fled the scene. A pursuit ensued onto the northbound Parkway but was ultimately terminated for safety reasons.

Following the incident, Detective Pirigyi led an investigation that resulted in the apprehension of the suspect, Randy Williams, 47, of South Orange. The investigation uncovered evidence linking Williams to multiple other thefts in Sayreville resulting in 17 additional charges.
