Man's Body Washed Ashore On Keyport Beach Sunday Night
The body of an adult man washed ashore Sunday night on the beach in Keyport, police in that town announced:

KEYPORT, NJ — The body of an adult man washed ashore Sunday night on the beach in Keyport, police in that town announced on their Facebook account.
Keyport Police say they do not know the identity of the man, and an autopsy is currently being performed on the body.
"In absence of an official confirmation of identity, we have recovered the body of an adult male that washed up near American Legion Drive," wrote Keyport Police Sunday night. "An autopsy will be performed to conclusively confirm the identity. Keyport Police Department urges the public to respect the privacy of the individual's family and refrain from speculation until we can provide verified information. Our heartfelt condolences go out to the family during this difficult time."

Last week, a 74-year-old man disappeared while kayaking in Raritan Bay. He was last seen in his kayak just off Keyport marina. He reported to Keyport Police that his kayak was taking on water and called for help; Keyport Police called in the Coast Guard to help search for him.
That man was identified by police as Zhenjiang Ding.

Keyport Police found his kayak Monday night, Oct. 23, near Cedar Street Park, along with his personal belongings and cell phone.
The U.S. Coast Guard based at Sandy Hook said last week they searched approximately 129 square nautical miles for over 37 hours for Ding, even bringing in helicopters from as far away as their Cape Cod station.
But Ding was never recovered.
