Teens Defaced LGBTQ Mural In Perth Amboy, Prosecutor Says
The two teens, one from Woodbridge, did burnouts in their cars on the mural, and used anti-LGBTQ language while they did it, said police:
PERTH AMBOY, NJ — Teens from Perth Amboy and Woodbridge are charged with defacing an LGBTQIA+ mural in Perth Amboy on Aug. 16, said Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Perth Amboy Police Chief Larry Cattano.
The mural is located on Brighton Avenue and Sadowski Parkway in Perth Amboy. Police did not provide photos.
On that date, police received a report of criminal mischief and were dispatched to the intersection of Brighton Avenue and Sadowski Parkway. Witnesses observed at least two vehicles performing burnouts on the mural before driving away.

Social media videos surfaced of the incident, accompanied by the two teens using anti-LGBTQIA+ language, said police.
Alexis Reynozo, 19, of Perth Amboy, and a 17-year-old juvenile male from the Hopelawn section of Woodbridge were identified as suspects.

Reynozo was arrested and charged with second-degree bias intimidation. The juvenile was charged with an act of juvenile delinquency for offenses which, if committed by an adult, would constitute bias intimidation.
