Monmouth County Man Falls Down NYC Elevator Shaft, Dies

A 61-year-old Monmouth County man died on Thursday after he fell down a NYC elevator shaft.

A 61-year-old Marlboro man who was supervising a renovation project died on Thursday after he fell down the elevator shaft of the NYC building he was working in.

Frank Dragotta was at the four-story residential building, located at 130 and 132 West 70th Street, around 8:30 a.m. when he fell one story, according to FL Times.

Dragotta was reportedly looking down the shaft when he fell and was later found unconscious and unresponsive at the bottom.

He was pronounced dead at the hospital, Post Star.

There was not a guardrail around the opening at the time of the incident, causing city officials to issued a citation, according to nj.com.
