During his final report at the Board of Education meeting in late June, Esposito expressed his appreciation for all of the teachers, faculty and administration that helped him along the way.

"I just want to take a moment to thank all the people that made me working in this position possible. First off, obviously, I would like to thank the Board of Education memebers and Superintendent Healy for allowing me to have this opportunity," he said. "I would like to thank all of the faculty, teachers and student from around the district, especially all the administration that helped keep me informed on what is going on in the district."

Esposito was also grateful to serve as the student representative because of the lessons he learned along the way.

"As a student of Matawan that just graduated and will be leaving in the Fall, I want to thank all the teachers that I've had throughout my time in the district and all the teachers on behelf of the Class of 2011, and the Board of Education for providing us with a wonderful foundation for which to build the rest of our lives," Esposito said.

Although not a voting member, the role of the student representative is to offer the students' prospectives on issues in the school district or decisions made by the Board of Education

The student representative also reports on the awards and honors achieved by each school and specific students in the district.

A new student representative is chosen each year.
