Pedestrian Critical After Sayreville Hit And Run On Rt. 35 North

The person was riding a scooter on Victory Bridge; police are looking for a green, four-door, Jeep Wrangler that fled the scene:

SAYREVILLE, NJ — Someone riding a scooter was hit by a car early Wednesday morning in Sayreville, and they remain in critical condition in the hospital Saturday, said the Middlesex County Prosecutor.

The car that hit them fled the scene and at the moment, police are looking for a green, four-door, Jeep Wrangler with a black top, black wheels and painted fenders; year 2011 to 2018. The front passenger side of the vehicle has sustained damage.

The crash happened at 5:25 a.m. Wednesday, in the area of Victory Bridge on Rt. 35 north.

When police got there, they found the victim who had been struck while operating a scooter.

Authorities transported him to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick. He is currently in critical condition.

The Jeep was last seen continuing over Victory Bridge towards Perth Amboy. Police are looking for any witnesses who were in the area at the time.
