Sayreville Daycare Worker Admitted Sexually Abusing 14 Children

Kyle Finn, 22, admitted sexually abusing 14 children, all under the age of 8, while they were under his care at Superhero Schoolhouse:

SAYREVILLE, NJ — A former aide at Superhero Schoolhouse daycare in Sayreville admitted sexually abusing 14 children, all under the age of 8, while they were in his care at the daycare.

The former daycare worker is Kyle Finn, 23, of Sayreville.

He was sentenced March 1 to 40 years in prison for the crimes of aggravated sex assault and sex assault, announced Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone.

Superhero Schoolhouse was located in the Parlin section of Sayreville and is now permanently closed. All the children were sexually abused on site at the daycare.

In October 2020, Sayreville Police received the first report of a sexual assault. The initial case involved three victims, but more families came forward as police started investigating.

In total, Finn sexually assaulted 14 children on site at the daycare, said a spokeswoman for the Middlesex County Prosecutor. The ages of the victims are:

Finn must serve 85 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for parole. When released, he is subject to parole supervision for life and must register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law.

Last June, Finn pleaded guilty to six counts of first-degree aggravated sex assault, and one count of second-degree sex assault.

Finn also worked as camp counselor for Our Lady of Victories Parish Church in Sayreville and the Sayreville Recreation Department. He has also volunteered for the Sayreville Association for Brain Injured Children.

ABC 7 reported that the director of Superhero Schoolhouse, South River resident Charmaine Larkin, 44, was also charged with failure to report child abuse, a disorderly persons offense.

Finn is a 2018 graduate of Sayreville War Memorial High School, where he was member of the high school wrestling team.
