Sayreville Man, 18, Charged With Aug. 20 Murder Of Local Man

A Sayreville man is now charged with a fatal shooting in that town that occurred last Tuesday, Aug. 20:

SAYREVILLE, NJ — A Sayreville man is now charged with a fatal shooting in that town that occurred last Tuesday, Aug. 20, Middlesex Count Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone announced Friday.

The fatal shooting occurred on Swider Driver at 9:49 p.m. last Tuesday. Police were called there for a 911 call of shots fired. When police got there, they found Jeremiah Brown, 22, of Sayreville, who sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police say Daniel Adediran, 18, of Sayreville, shot and killed Brown.

This does not appear to be a random act of violence; Adediran knew the victim.

Adediran was arrested without incident Wednesday and charged with first-degree murder and two counts of illegal weapons possession. He is currently being held at the Middlesex County jail pending the results of his pre-trial detention hearing.

This murder case is being investigated by Sayreville Police Detective Michael Pirigyi and Detective Michelle Coppola of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.
