Snow, Sleet and Freezing Rain Expected in Monmouth County

Snow, sleet and freezing rain are expected in the area Sunday, and that weather could cause isolated power outages and dangerous driving conditions.
A winter storm warning is in effect until 4 a.m. Monday for parts of Monmouth County, according to the National Weather Service.
One to two inches of snow, and up to a third of an inch of ice is expected, according to the weather service.

By mid-to late afternoon, snow is expected to turn to sleet and freezing rain, which will continue to fall Sunday night into early Monday morning.
Strong winds are also possible, and temperatures are expected to stay in the high 20s and lower 30s, the weather service said.

“This will make travel very hazardous or impossible,’’ the weather service said in an alert.
On Tuesday, rain is expected and it may be heavy at times, the weather service said. And with mild temperatures, melting snow could cause some flooding.
Snow is possible again Wednesday night into Thursday.
