Tree Worker Who Fell In Aberdeen Critical, OSHA Reviewing

The lawn care worker who fell 40 feet from a bucket while working on a tree Monday in Aberdeen is alive, but remains in critical condition.

ABERDEEN, NJ — The lawn care worker who fell 40 feet from a bucket while working on a tree Monday in Aberdeen is alive, but remains in critical condition Tuesday.

And the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) is now looking into the tragic accident, a spokeswoman for the agency confirmed.

As we reported yesterday, the accident happened at around 10:30 a.m. Monday morning, July 9 in a yard in the Cliffwood Beach section of Aberdeen. The 37-year-old man had been working for a tree service company when he plummeted 40 feet from a bucket to the ground below.

He was unconscious, but breathing when he was rushed by medevac helicopter to Robert Wood Johnson Medical Center in New Brunswick. There, the man remains in critical condition as of Tuesday afternoon, a hospital spokesman told Patch.

When informed about the incident, an OSHA spokeswoman said it was the first they'd heard of it, but they are now looking into the matter. The tree service, which is not named, had been hired to work on the property on Prospect Avenue in Cliffwood Beach.
