Weather Update: Hour-By-Hour Forecast For the Matawan and Aberdeen Area

A winter storm warning goes into effect at 11 p.m. Wednesday; 6 to 10 inches of snow expected; travel will be hazardous or impossible.

A winter storm warning will be in effect for Monmouth County from 11 p.m. Wednesday until 7 p.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

A steady, accumulating snow that could be heavy at times is expected to begin falling Wednesday evening and continue into Thursday, the weather service said.

Some 6 to 10 inches of snow is expected. That snow is expected to make travel very hazardous or impossible Wednesday night and Thursday, the weather service said.

Wednesday

Cloudy, with an 80 percent chance of rain. High temperatures will reach about 41 degrees. Rain will change to snow Wednesday evening. The low will be about 28 degrees. Winds of 10 to 15 mph are expected. Some 3 to 5 inches of snow is expected to fall overnight.

Noon to 6 p.m.: 41 to 40 degrees, showers

7 p.m. to 10 p.m. 38 to 36 degrees, rain

11 p.m. to midnight: 36 to 35 degrees, heavy snow

Thursday

Snow showers will continue falling. The high will be about 27 degrees and winds of 10 to 15 mph are expected.

1 a.m. to 5 a.m.: 32 to 29 degrees, snow

6 a.m. to noon: 29 to 24 degrees, snow

1 p.m. to 6 p.m.: 24 to 22 degrees, snow, snow showers

7 p.m. to midnight: 22 to 16 degrees, cloudy

Friday

Skies will be sunny and the high temperature will reach about 28 degrees.

1 a.m. to 6 a.m.: 14 to 10 degrees

7 a.m. to 9 a.m.: 10 to 15 degrees, sunny

Weekend

Skies will be sunny, with high temperatures reaching about 39 degrees Saturday and 43 on Sunday. Lows will be in the mid to high 20s.
