99 Percent of Residents Powerless In Mendham Borough

Mendham Township and the Chesters fared marginally better in the tropical storm.

Tropical Storm Isaias may be leaving, but the damage is done and thousands in Mendham and Chester remain without power.

According to JCP&L, at 4:30 p.m. 2,110 of their 2,111 customers or 99.95 percent of their customers were without power.

"We are working closely with JCP&L to get an estimate when they believe our power will be restored. Due to the overwhelming amount of downed trees, limbs, and wires, all storm recovery crews are working as quickly as possible," Mendham Borough Mayor Christine Glassner said. "It's unclear when they will have an estimate, but we will keep you posted as the recovery operations proceed. We ask for your patients and that you stay safe."
