Brookside Resident, College Professor Succumbs to Parkinson's at 72
Edward Jost was known for his quick wit and devotion to his family.
Edward Jost was a family man, an educator, and a battler.
The Brookside resident passed away Monday after a 22-year battle with Parkinson’s disease at the age of 72, according to his obituary.
Jost was born in New York and lived in Mendham for the last 32 years. While he worked for years in Information Technology, Jost found much joy in teaching.

He was an adjunct professor at the County College of Morris and the College of Saint Elizabeth. He was also a fulltime educator at Patterson Adult School and received many accolades and awards for his work and dedication to students.
Jost is survived by his wife of 47 years, two daughters, a sister and a brother.

A memorial service will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church on Maple Avenue in Morristown at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 9. Memorial donations can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, Grand Central Station, P.O. Box 4777, New York, NY 10163-4777.
