Carla Hall of ABC's "The Chew" Headlines Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset's Heart Month Event On Feb. 17
Carla Hall, co-host of ABC's "The Chew" will headline Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset's community health education program.

SOMERVILLE, NJ, Jan. 12, 2015 – Carla Hall, co-host of ABC’s “The Chew” and “Fan Favorite” on Bravo’s “Top Chef All-Stars,” will headline Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset’s community health education program on women and heart disease on Tuesday, Feb. 17. The event, “Hootie Hoo for Heart Healthy Cooking with Carla Hall,” will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at Bridgewater Manor. Cost is $10 and includes dinner.
Ranjita Sengupta, MD, FACC, a cardiologist with Robert Wood Johnson Physician Enterprise, will discuss strategies to reduce risk factors for heart disease, the correlation between diet and risk factors, the significance of prevention, the differences in signs and symptoms of a heart attack between men and women, causes of heart disease, diagnosis and treatments.
A moderated conversation with Hall will follow. She will discuss the importance of a healthy diet for cardiac wellness and conduct a cooking demonstration of nutritious recipes and comfort dishes from around the world.

All attendees will receive a copy of Hall’s cookbook with Genevieve Ko, “Carla’s Comfort Foods: Favorite Dishes from Around the World,” which includes 130 international recipes. Hall will be available to sign books after the program.
Hall became nationally known as a competitor on Bravo’s “Top Chef” where she was known for her catch phrase, “Hootie Hoo!” She is the owner of Carla Hall Petite Cookies, an artisanal cookie company, and is also the author of “Cooking with Love: Comfort Food That Hugs You.” She completed her culinary training at L’Academie de Cuisine in Maryland and has worked as an executive chef and culinary instructor.
