Chester To Celebrate 250 Years: See Details
An event at Municipal Field will include live music, with New Power Soul set to headline.
CHESTER, NJ — Chester will mark a major milestone on Sunday, June 14, when the community gathers at Municipal Field for Chester 250, a celebration tied to the borough's 250-year history. According to the Chester 250 Committee, the event is planned as a free community day with live music scheduled throughout the day.
The committee said New Power Soul will serve as the Main Stage headliner and is scheduled to perform at 5:30 p.m. The band is described as a “high-energy, tri-state favorite” and said the performance is expected to be a featured part of the day.
The event is also being backed by current sponsors that the committee publicly thanked in its outreach. Those sponsors are Chester Lions Club, Kessler Institute, American Fed. Mortgage, Brian & Mary Murphy, Chester Meat Market, Alstede Farms, and Hyde & Associates.

The committee is also asking residents, families and businesses to contribute to the Chester 250 campaign. According to the announcement, donations are intended to support the event and help keep the celebration free for the public.
“By contributing to the Chester 250 campaign, you aren’t just donating to an event; you are becoming a part of Chester’s legacy and helping us keep this celebration free for everyone,” the Chester 250 Committee wrote.

The fundraising campaign includes four giving levels. Friend of Chester 250 is listed at $500 and includes a family or business name on all event emails and on the website. Partner of Chester 250 is listed at $250 and includes a social media shoutout and a name on the website.
Supporter of Chester 250 is listed at $100, with a name posted on the website as an official supporter. Chester 250 Booster is listed at $50, with the donor's name listed on the website as a booster.
People who want to donate can do so online through the registration link shared by the committee. Donations can also be mailed by check payable to “Borough of Chester,” with “Chester 250 Day” in the memo line, to Chester Borough Recreation Dept., Attn: Jennifer Manzella, 50 North Rd, Chester, NJ.
