Cops: Driver Tailgated Squad Car, Had Pot

An 18-year-old Middlesex man was arrested and charged with drug and traffic offenses after tailgating a patrol car on April 13, Chester Township Police said.

Chester Township Patrolman Greg Smith conducted a traffic stop on Route 206 on a vehicle that was tailgating his squad car, police said. According to authorities, Smith approached the vehicle operated by Michael Porcile and noticed the odor of burnt marijuana.

Smith arrested Porcile and charged him with possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, possession of a controlled dangerous substance in a motor vehicle and tailgating, police said. According to police, Porcile was released from custody pending an appearance in Chester Township Municipal Court.
