The Country Coffee Shop Not Reopening In Mendham
The 2016 fire shuttered the business for good.

MENDHAM, NJ — After a fire destroyed multiple businesses in the King's Shopping Center in Mendham, the Country Coffee Shop told Patch they no longer plan on re-opening.
The Country Coffee Shop was one of four businesses badly damaged after a garbage truck caught on fire and exploded in the shopping center last December. Their future was uncertain for a number of months, with owners posting updates about dealing with insurance companies on their Facebook page.
A June comment said it "doesn't look like" they'd be able to reopen, citing new building codes and "other reasons." The the owners told Patch this week they have officially decided not to rebuild.

They are one of two businesses that have not reopened. Village Pizza, which was also heavily damaged by the flames, remains closed. Attempts to contact the owners have been unsuccessful.
The other two businesses, which were primarily damaged by water used to extinguish the flames, have fared better. Aoyama Chinese and Japanese re-opened in the Kings Shopping Center on Wednesday.
