Sparrow House Outreach provides nutritious hot meals, fresh produce, and non-perishable foods to community members who are struggling with poverty or homelessness. We are dedicated to supporting an underserved population within the Essex County community, driven by the fundamental belief that no individual should ever endure hunger or lack access to essentials. Our vision encompasses providing support through direct meal and essential items distributions, and to empower individuals by assisting with securing employment and housing. Sparrow House Outreach positively impacts the community of Newark, NJ by creating an opportunity for volunteers and local partners to fulfill philanthropic endeavors through meeting the needs of those we serve. Local communities help us address food insecurities for our most vulnerable neighbors by consistently and reliably serving nutritious hot meals every week to individuals and families in need. According to Lieutenant Tom Williver of the Chester Township Police, Fox Chase Road will be closed at the bridge just west of Beacon Hill Drive starting Monday Aug 20 for approximately three days. The bridge deck is scheduled to be reparied and while it is being worked on the bridge will be completely closed, Williver said. Residents will be allowed to gain access to their homes if they live past the closure points. According to Williver, detour signs will be posted.
