Hilltop Church Announces 2026-27 Concert Series In Mendham
The seven-event season will feature silent film, a cappella, Broadway favorites, and more.
MENDHAM, NJ — Hilltop Church in Mendham has announced its 2026-27 Concert Series, a seven-event season featuring performances ranging from a Charlie Chaplin silent film with live organ accompaniment to Broadway music, classical works and a cappella.
The First Presbyterian Church of Mendham, known locally as Hilltop Church, said the series will be led by Organist and Director of Music James A. Wynne, with performances taking place at the church sanctuary and Fellowship Hall.
The season opens Friday, Sept. 25, with a screening of Charlie Chaplin's "The Kid," starring Chaplin and Jackie Coogan. Wynne will provide live organ accompaniment. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students.

On Friday, Oct. 23, the Yale "Spizzwinks?" will perform at the church. The group, founded in 1914, is billed as the world's oldest underclassman a cappella ensemble. Tickets are $20 for adults and $15 for students.
The series continues Friday, Nov. 20, with "A Night of Broadway, II" at Fellowship Hall, 14 Hilltop Road. Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for students.

Hilltop's annual Christmas concert is scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 13. This year's program, "250 Years of American Christmas Music," will feature the Hilltop Oratorio Choir, Orchestra, Bells and Organ.

The series returns in 2027 with "Organ Transcriptions, Part V — A Night At the Opera" on Saturday, Feb. 27. Wynne will perform opera and orchestral works transcribed for organ. A snow date is set for Feb. 28.
On Sunday, April 18, the Hilltop Oratorio Choir, soloists and organ will perform Dubois' "The 7 Last Words" and Fauré's "Requiem." The season concludes Sunday, May 2, with a performance by the New Jersey Youth Chorus. Tickets for both concerts are $20 for adults and $10 for students.
All concerts will also be available by livestream for a fee, according to the church. Tickets and livestream links can be arranged by calling the church office at 973-543-4012 Monday through Thursday.
Hilltop Church is located at 20 Hilltop Road in Mendham. The congregation was founded in 1738 and has served the community for more than 285 years.
