Mega Menorah to Light Up Chester's Main Street for Chanukah

Chabad Jewish Center to host event on holiday's sixth night.

The Chabad Jewish Center is going to make sure the symbol of Chanukah is seen by all in the Chester area this year, as the public is invited to help light a 9-foot menorah on Dec. 21.

The event will be held at Gazebo Park in Chester at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 21, the sixth night of the holiday.

After the lighting all are invited to stay for latkes, sufganiot, music, raffles and other entertainment.

Chanukah is “a holiday that enriches our lives with the light of tradition,” said Chabad director and Rabbi Yaacov Shusterman. “In ancient times our ancestors rededicated the Temple in Jerusalem with the Menorah. Today, we rededicate ourselves to making this world a better and brighter place.”
