Mendham Magnificence: Eighth Graders Honored for School Year Success

Luke Bell and Emma Grissett had extensive resumes that garnered extra accolades.

Luke Bell and Emma Grissett have their sights set on graduating eighth grade and starting high school in September.

But before they can move on, the Mendham Township and Mendham Borough residents, respectively, are taking in the much-deserved accolades.

The pair of eighth graders attended a ceremony in which they were honored with counterparts from across the county by the Morris County Association of School Administrators. One eighth grader from each middle school in the county was chosen to be honored at the ceremony based on his or her outstanding academics, school leadership, and community involvement and service.

Each student was honored with a plaque and dinner for their family and members of their school community.

Bell, of Mendham Township Middle School, was a member Peer Leaders, Student Council, Yearbook Staff, Gifted and Talented Program (Quest), Bulldog News, Soccer Captain & Champion, Basketball Captain & Champion, Lacrosse, Travel Basketball, FCNJ Soccer Clulb, TLC Religous Youth Group, Top Soccer Volunteer, and iCare Foundation Volunteer.

Grissett, of Mountain View Middle School, was a member of 8th Grade Student Council Representative, 7th and 8th Grade Musical Cast, Soccer Captain, Stat Keeper for the Boys Basketball Team, Mendham Magic Track & Field, West Morris Soccer Club, Brookside Swim Team, T24 Youth Ministry, Recreational Basketball, Community Food Bank of NJ Volunteer.
